Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2026  ·  Effective: 24 October 2026

These terms take effect on 24 October 2026. Until then, the previous terms (August 2026) apply: previous terms.
These terms cover every Javer service. They are published in Japanese and English; if the two differ, the Japanese version applies.

1. About these terms

Javer Studios ("Javer", "we", "us") is a hosting service run by Rehan Mohammad Sayeed, an individual business owner in Japan. The seller details required by Japanese law are on our 特定商取引法に基づく表記 page.

These terms apply to:

These terms are standard terms (定型約款) under Article 548-2 of the Civil Code of Japan. By creating an account or using a service, you agree to them.

2. Who can use Javer

You must be 18 or older to agree to these terms yourself. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to them for you and is responsible for how the account is used. If you use Javer for a business, you confirm you are allowed to agree to these terms on its behalf.

3. Your account and keys

4. What you may not do

If you break these rules we may stop a service, remove content or suspend your account. We normally warn you first. We act without warning when there is serious harm, an ongoing attack, illegal content, or a legal order. Report abuse to [email protected].

5. Your content and data

You own the code, files, data and other content you put on Javer. You give us permission to store, copy and run it only as needed to provide the services to you. We do not look inside your apps, databases, servers or mailboxes except to run the service, to deal with a security incident or abuse, when the law requires it, or when you ask us to. Your email and your messages to other users are protected as secret communications under Japanese law (通信の秘密).

We keep backups for disaster recovery: hourly copies of each database (the latest 14 are kept), point-in-time recovery for the period your plan includes, and encrypted copies stored away from our main servers. Backups are not a replacement for your own. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose; we cannot guarantee that every restore will succeed.

Free virtual machines. To stop free VMs being used for spam, scanning or attacks, we count, for each free VM: tries to connect to mail ports, how many different addresses it connects to in a minute, how many DNS requests it makes, how much data it sends and receives, and how long it runs at its speed limit. We do not read the content of any traffic, and we do not record which sites or addresses you connect to or what you look up. To count different addresses we hold them in memory for 60 seconds and then forget them. We keep the numbers for 3 days, and a short note of any warning (what kind and when) while your account exists and for 30 days after you delete it. If the numbers suggest misuse we may slow the VM, limit it to web, DNS and time for 7 days and, if it happens again within 30 days, stop it. We tell you each time and nothing is deleted. By creating or using a free VM you accept this section as part of these Terms.

Limited free VMs: one person, one share. There are only a few free VMs, so we check that one person is not taking several with several accounts. When you create, or try to create, a free VM we check that your account is at least 24 hours old, that your email address is not from a throwaway-email service, and that it is not the same mailbox as another account written differently (for example with dots or a "+" part). We also count how many free VMs were made or attempted from the same network, using a one-way hash of the network part of your IP address. Nothing about your network is recorded when you sign up, only when you try to create a free VM. We do not keep the IP address itself, and we do not use browser or device fingerprints or ID cookies for this. A few free VMs from one network only flags the account for a person to look at, so families, offices and shared mobile networks are not turned away. If one network makes many free VMs in a short time, we may ask you to contact support first. We keep these records while your account exists and for 30 days after you delete it.

All virtual machines. Mail port 25 is blocked. We also keep a monthly total of the data your virtual machines send and receive, only to slow a virtual machine that goes past its monthly allowance.

6. Plans, prices and billing

7. Beta services

Javer Game Host is in beta and free. Beta services and features can change or stop. We give notice when we can.

8. Domains

9. Email hosting

Mailboxes are for your own and your organisation's mail. We do not read your mail (section 5). When you remove a mailbox, its mail is kept for 30 days so it can be restored if you ask, then deleted permanently.

10. The AI support assistant

Our support assistant is an AI that answers from our documentation. It can be wrong, and its answers are not professional advice. For anything important, ask it to pass your question to a person. Conversations with it are not stored unless you pass them to us.

11. Availability

We run our own hardware in Tokyo, Japan. We aim for high uptime but do not offer a formal uptime guarantee (SLA). We sometimes need maintenance. We post outages and planned maintenance at javerstudios.com/status.

12. Closing your account, and suspension

13. What we promise

We provide the services as they are. We do not promise that they will be uninterrupted or free of errors, or suitable for a particular purpose. This does not limit any right you have under Japanese law that cannot be limited, including under the Consumer Contract Act.

14. Our liability

  1. If we cause you loss by failing to meet our obligations or by a wrongful act, we compensate you for direct and ordinary loss (通常の損害), up to the greater of: the fees you paid us in the 3 months before the event, or ¥3,000.
  2. The limit in (1) does not apply if the loss was caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence (故意又は重大な過失). In that case we are liable as the law provides.
  3. We are not liable for loss caused by the events in section 16, or by your own breach of these terms.

15. Business users

If you use Javer for a business rather than as a consumer, you will compensate us for reasonable costs, including legal fees, of any claim made against us by a third party because of your breach of these terms or of the law.

16. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events we could not reasonably prevent, such as power cuts, internet backbone failures, natural disasters, epidemics, government action, or attacks we could not reasonably stop.

17. Changes to these terms

Under Article 548-4 of the Civil Code, we may change these terms only when the change is in users' general interest, or is reasonable in light of the purpose of these terms. We post the new terms, what changed and the date the change takes effect on this page. If a change is not in your favour, we also email you at least 14 days before it takes effect.

18. Law and courts

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance for any dispute about them.

19. General

If part of these terms is found invalid, the rest still applies. If the business is sold or transferred, we may transfer these terms with it and will tell you first. These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us.
